I can only say that the camera I received was absolutely new. I have purchased "refurbished " Kodak cameras before and can easily identify a difference in the packaging and markings. Mine also included the docking plate, which is not listed as included. It is also "my" understanding that refurbished cameras are actually "new" cameras that have been returned, but opened. Reconditioned models are likely to have been repaired.
